Our TypeFinder® assessments are based on the personality theory created by Isabel Myers and Katharine Briggs. They each measure your preferences on Myers and Briggs' four dimensions of personality type, and our TypeFinder Personality Test also includes 23 more detailed facets of type to personalize your results.
The TypeFinder has been researched extensively to ensure it is valid and reliable, using a variety of statistical methods. These results are detailed in the TypeFinder Technical Documentation.
We offer several different versions of the TypeFinder:
- The TypeFinder® Personality Test: Intended for individual users, this test is referred to as the TypeFinder for Individuals when using our Truity at Work platform. This is the most comprehensive version of our TypeFinder assessment. It looks at preferences on the four main dimensions of personality, as well as across 23 facets of personality. The report covers each facet in detail, and provides a comprehensive overview of the core 4-letter personality type including personal style, relationship style, work style, and strategies for growth.
- The TypeFinder® for the Workplace: This is the edition of the TypeFinder especially designed for business applications. The report focuses in on issues important for team-building, leadership, and employee development. If you are leading a workshop for your employees or colleagues, this is the report for you!
- The TypeFinder® for Career Planning: Choose this version of the TypeFinder for clients who are working on choosing a career. The TypeFinder for Career Planning combines a personality type assessment with a measure of career interests according to John Holland's RIASEC framework. Results provide specific suggestions for suitable careers and targeted advice for managing the career planning process.
- The TypeFinder for Individuals - 2013 Edition: Only available through our Truity @ Work platform, this is a basic edition of the TypeFinder assessment, ideal for users who are new to personality type or those who prefer a simple report. The report provides an overview of the four-letter type including cognitive style, relationship style, work style, and strategies for growth. While the above reports provide a greater level of detail, you may want to choose this edition if you prefer a shorter assessment with a simpler report that covers both work and home life.
